Structural Damage

This was supposed to be a simple door replacement. What I found was an incorrect installation.
The exterior trim and the jamb had been wrapped in metal, but not caulked. The result was an alarming amount of hidden damage. Fortunately, structural members were not compromised.

    The homeowner in this case built his own house. The work was well done everywhere else, from what I could tell. But there was no gutter above this door, which was also a major oversight.
