I love puzzles. I also love making them.
I’ve been making puzzles for years, but I don’t have pictures of most of them. It wasn’t a habit (for me anyway) to take pictures of all the things I’ve made. I realize that’s going to sound crazy to younger readers. But I’ve been working wood for nearly two decades, and for the first half of my woodworking experience social media didn’t exist. Over the years I have sold many of my projects, but I’ve also given a lot of them away. Now that I’ve got shop space again, I’m going to remake some of those puzzles. And some new ones.
I made the burr puzzle (above) yesterday, and this one a couple weeks ago:
I’m not going to reveal the secrets of these puzzles here because I like to stump my friends with them. I don’t want them to be able to just look here for the solution.
But if you must know…
I learned how to make both of these puzzles from one of my favorite woodworkers on YouTube – Steve French. If you haven’t already, do yourself a favor and check out his channel. He’s very talented and his videos are entertaining.
